Now, tell me, why are we feeling tempted to run from God? Why would we even consider that approach to the situation when we need God so?
Is it because the devil is running around roaring at us like a lion? Is it because he is accusing us from our past and hoping we fall for the lie? Is he trying to put one over on us so he can steal the Word of God out of our hearts before it can take root and grow? Yes, to all three of those questions
If you are a Christian, if you are saved by the completed work of Jesus Christ at the cross of Calvary, then that is exactly the reason the devil would want to make you would feel like running from God. You are falling for the lie. The devil is trying to make you think that Father God is displeased with you or angry with you.
GOD IS NOT MAD AT YOU!
God is not going to get you. He loves you and He is a good God. He offers you his mercy and grace. He just wants to show that He loves you; and He wants to show you His goodness.
The Father took out his entire wrath in the body of Jesus Christ. Jesus bore it all, once and for all, and the Father’s anger was appeased in Christ Jesus.
It pleased the Father to bruise Jesus. That seems awfully harsh, but it is not. No one else could do the job but the pure, spotless Lamb of God that was slain, and rose again. And that is what pleased God, that Jesus didn't have to do it, but he willing gave up his life for us. God shows us what was accomplished by that bruising in Isaiah 53:10-12 of The Message.
“Still, it's what God had in mind all along,
to crush him with pain.
The plan was that he give himself as an offering for sin
so that he'd see life come from it—life, life, and more life.
And God's plan will deeply prosper through him.
Out of that terrible travail of soul,
he'll see that it's worth it and be glad he did it.
Through what he experienced, my righteous one, my servant,
will make many "righteous ones,"
as he himself carries the burden of their sins.
Therefore I'll reward him extravagantly—
the best of everything, the highest honors—
Because he looked death in the face and didn't flinch,
because he embraced the company of the lowest.
He took on his own shoulders the sin of the many,
he took up the cause of all the black sheep.”
When you find yourself doubting God’s love for you, stop what you’re doing and remember Calvary. Remember what Jesus has done for you. Then Praise him! Praise him! Praise him! God inhabits the praises of His people. Satan cannot stand in the presence of God. He will flee and take his lies with him.
Have a great day; and remember who and Whose you are.
