Bad News In The Desert

"The old well has run dry."  ~ Bad news in the desert

Those of us who live in the desert are well aware of the necessity of water. Recently, in my community there has been a raging debate regarding water.

A particular development that requires a large commitment of water has expressed an interest in our area. Some folks fear that the aquifer will be drained quickly, and that surrounding aquifers will be adversely affected.

One man suggested that the project wait until we have had a couple years of adequate rainfall to replenish what has already been diminished by drought.

We, too, as God's people have precious resources that can run dry. Sometimes we spread ourselves so thin in what we are trying to accomplish for God that there is no more inspiration left for other efforts. That is when we are "laboring under the perspiration instead of the inspiration". It is then time to take a step back to let our reserves replenished.

Take the time to read the Word, speak in tongues and edify yourself. Get out in God's creation and enjoy the scenery, and meditate on the goodness of God. Let the well fill back up so there will be something to draw from.

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Have a great day; and remember who and Whose you are.
