Artemus Ward once said, "The better people think you are, the better you are liable to be."
This girl had just gotten off drugs and alcohol and was trying to turn her life around. She was very shy, and intimidated by the whole process. My boss had asked me to train her because she knew that I had been delivered from drugs and alcohol. She felt that I would be compassionate towards the girl.
Have a great day; and remember who and Whose you are.
We
tell our children good things and praise their efforts knowing that they will
try to live up to our expectations. Sadly, the same is true of negative feedback.
I recall one time, when I trained
a new girl on the fuel desk at a local truck stop where I worked. She was the
daughter of a friend of the boss.
This girl had just gotten off drugs and alcohol and was trying to turn her life around. She was very shy, and intimidated by the whole process. My boss had asked me to train her because she knew that I had been delivered from drugs and alcohol. She felt that I would be compassionate towards the girl.
The
night started with several mistakes, but got better as the time progressed. I
praised her work, because I knew that honest praise would build her confidence.
It worked! She did as well as I told her she was doing. Things, in general,
went well for her. Praise God!
It all makes me wonder why the same principle doesn't seem work with some Christians.

"For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so
that in him we might become the righteousness of God." II
Corinthians 5:21 RSV
God says we are his children and He loves us; we are joint-heirs
with Jesus. God says we are a special people, called out for his service. He
calls us priests and kings. We have been made the righteousness of God in
Christ Jesus.
Let's live up to the
things our Father says about us.
Have a great day; and remember who and Whose you are.

"Now unto Him that is able
to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of
His glory with exceeding joy."
Jude v. 24 KJV
