“Life is not fair!” borrowed from parents down through the ages
One of the things I tried to teach my children seems, at first glance, to be very discouraging. It is my firm belief that life will be easier to deal with when you know that life is not fair; and when you do not expect it to be.
God is not fair, but He is just. Even though we all deserve to be left to our own devices and to an eternity in hell, God has made a way for all of us to have right standing with Him; and he did it justly.
He did that by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place. Jesus was our substitute and He took all the punishment that we deserve and He died in our place. He took all our sin--past present and future--and gifted us with the righteousness of God. That satisfied the justice of God. God accepted Jesus’ finished work of grace at the cross to give us eternal life with Him.
So you see, it is a gift from God to us. To benefit from that gift, that is, to receive eternal life we just have to receive that gift. That's all we have to do.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" Ephesians 2:8
“But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One, died for us.” Romans 9:8 TAB
Have a great day; and remember who and Whose you are.
