Just Do It

The world says 'just do it', but Jesus says 'just be'. ~ Heard in a sermon

Jesus says, "be saved; be healed; be set free; be at rest; be not afraid; be filled with the Spirit."

We labor so to do all the right things; and to do all the works of Christian charity; and to do what we hope is pleasing to God. We spend little time resting in the Lord and being the righteousness of God.

The kingdom of God is not 'busy-work for God‘. It is not a ‘race for righteousness‘. All the doing that has to be done has already been done by Jesus. Remember that he said "...It is finished..." John 19:30

It is about a relationship with Almighty God; and we can have that relationship because of what Jesus did at Calvary. He died that we might live; His body was broken that we might be made whole; He was made poor that we might be made rich. When we know how much we are loved by God, we will do good things motivated by His love for us.

Take the time to enter into God’s rest. That is the work that we need to do--to enter into His rest and sit at Jesus' feet and learn of Him. While the whole world around us is in turmoil, while their hearts are failing them for fear; we can relax and know that all is well with us because of what Jesus did. The world will wonder why we aren't harried and frazzled like they are. Then we will have opportunity to tell them about Jesus our beautiful Lord.

"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost."  Romans 14:17

Have a great day; and remember who and Whose you are.
