Faith Then Belief

How can I grow my faith? - a common question

In recent months, I have had a couple of people ask me how to grow their faith. One person told me that she didn't think that she had any faith at all.

We all have faith. The Bible plainly teaches that in Romans 12:3 (c) KJV, "...God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." We all have faith and we all have the same amount of faith--"the measure of faith."

Well then, faith is not the issue when it comes to receiving anything from God. Belief is the issue. For instance, if you believe that God wants you to be well and healthy, then you will have faith to be healed and walk in health; but if you don't believe that God wants you to be well, then you will not be well. You can take it to the bank, if you don't believe it, it will not happen for you.

Most Christian people can believe that God wants to forgive sin because Jesus died for that. Well, he also died for your healing and health. That's why he was beaten with a cat of nine tails*.  * http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Cat+of+nine+tails

In Isaiah 53:5 KJV the Bible says, "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

Notice the last phrase of that verse. It was written in the present tense. That would certainly make an event that occurred over 2000 years ago to be in the past tense for us today. It is already done. Jesus already healed you!

That means that when he was beaten, when he took those stripes on his
back, that's when we were healed. It is important that you believe that. You have to believe that something is true; and not just that it is true, but that it is true for you, before you can exercise your faith and see it come to pass in your circumstance.

I pray that you will begin to believe that what Jesus did at Calvary was not to save us from sin only. He came to bring us abundant life. There is so much more to abundant life than many of us are believing for.

There is so much more to cover with this topic. We will get to the rest of it in due time. Keep believing!

Have a great day; and remember who and Whose you are.

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, (25) To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen."  Jude v. 24-25 KJV

*The cat-of-nine-tails with which Jesus was beaten had pieces if metal, broken glass, and rocks intertwined through the the fibres of the tails so that the flesh was ripped off of the person when they were struck. It caused them to lose a great deal of blood. Jesus was lashed 39 times. Many men who were given the same sentence did not live through the beating.
