Imagine a million piece jigsaw puzzle all spread out on a table before you. All the pieces are different shades of the same color, and there is no picture of the finished product to draw guidance from. You can't tell the edge pieces from the middle pieces. It would be impossible to make something beautiful out of that puzzle, wouldn't it?
Well, folks, that is the impossible job we take on when we try to change someone, to make them better, to make them the way we want them to be. We could move "pieces" around from one spot to another forever and still never achieve the desired result. Wives, husbands, parents and friends all do that to one degree or another. At one time or another, we all see something in someone else that we would like to change.
When you confront something in another person that you think you can improve on by moving their "pieces" around--don't try it. You will only make it worse. Pray about it! Tell it to the Lord! He has created each one of us, individually. He has the picture of the finished product. He has prepared a future for each one of us.
"Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day."
Psalm 139:13-16 The Message
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
Have a great day; and remember who and Whose you are.
