"Oh, my God!", "My, Lord!", "OMG!" ~ Common sayings
Have you ever used any of those phrases to indicate surprise or some other emotion like anger or irritation? When you used them, did you expect the Lord to hear and answer you? Were you appropriating the power and divine presence that those names represent?
It has become a very common thing to hear people talk like that. Most people don’t see anything wrong with it. When I was a kid, a remark like that was a sure-fire invitation to a pop in the mouth.
I have been guilty of reducing the name of Jesus to a common thing. I have used the name of God in a common way, and hoped that he didn't hear me. I am not proud of that.
We all know people who use God's name as a curse and who speak of Jesus only when cursing. How it hurts our hearts to hear that. Using the Lord’s name in a cheap, common way makes Him seem cheap and common in other people’s eyes. It certainly does nothing to help our testimony.
Let us determine in our hearts to reverence the name of the Lord and to use it to bring power and glory into whatever situation we are speaking about.
All hell trembles at the name of Jesus Christ, the Anointed One. With that name, the lost are saved, the captives are delivered, the broken-hearted are healed, the blind recover their sight, and the bruised are set at liberty. There is life changing power on the Name of Jesus.!
All the power of heaven is set into motion at the mention of that name. The angels fall down and worship at the name of Jesus.
"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:9-11
Have a great day; and remember who and Whose you are.

"Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy." Jude v. 24 KJV
