"Ye are the salt of the earth," – The Bible, Matthew 5:13 (a) |
The same salt that prevents dehydration in the hot summer weather,
will also contribute to high blood pressure.
The gospel is like that, too! It
will either make people mad or make them glad.
Those who are ready to receive the good news will welcome it. Those who are not will reject it, often
adamantly and with anger. When we are in
darkness, we do not like the light of God’s Word shining on our evil deeds.
As we read and study God's word, we can learn how to be a preventative
measure—“salt”—in people’s lives. We can
be a beacon of hope for those around us; also, we can be a warning of judgment
to come for those who do not heed God's Word.
So, while we don’t have to be “preachy” and make everyone run the other
way when we show up. We do need to let
the fragrance and flavor of a victorious life in Christ be known to all in our
acquaintance. Love shows the goodness of God which leads to repentance.
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor,
how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and
trampled underfoot by men.” Matthew 5:13
KJV
Have a great day; and remember who and Whose you are.
